Role of family in addiction
Addiction is a family disease, meaning it affects the people around the addict. Everyone around a substance use disorder person has a social responsibility to support them. Enabling and supporting are two very different things. Enabling is to enable them to use for emotional, or any other reason. Supporting means to support him/her as a person with other things than addiction. For example giving food instead of money. Alot of times it reaches a point where we listen less and react more instead of listening and acting. This is where you should know you need external support where rehabs play a role.
